Overall I’m very pleased with the ProGrade reader so far. believe this is simply a matter of the 10 Gbps USB channel being renamed by the USB Implementers Forum from 3.1 Gen 2 to 3.2 Gen 2, and it was probably too expensive to repackage existing inventory to reflect a different name for the same thing, especially when the packaging is so obviously first-class. I thought I had been sent the wrong device until I did a little research. The only complaint I have is pretty minor - the online description of the unit says that it has has USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface, but the packaging says it’s a USB 3.1 Gen 2 device. I have not tried the included adhesive-backed ferrous mounting plate with my aluminum case laptop, but it works exactly as desired with the desktop case.

I have the reader stuck to the top of a full tower case desktop computer, and can easily insert & remove cards without dislodging the reader. The rubberized magnetic base works beautifully. This is something less worthy readers rarely do, and I have many dead readers due to bent pins from shallow CF wells. Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. The compact flash well is deep enough that there is little (or no) worry of bending the pins in the reader. I always 'safely eject' the cards, but about 1/4 -1/3 of the time when plugging the cards into our Fanuc controller (CNC Machine) we get a 'format error'. I have not used the ProGrade Digital Compact Flash and SD UHS-II dual slot card reader for more than doing some tests, but so far it has been impressive. For my work we use Compact Flash cards which must be formatted with plain Fat, and I use the built-in card reader.
